This is a Quick Response (QR) code. You’re going to be seeing more of these on this website, Facebook fan page, and our printed marketing materials. You will find they are also used in everything from magazines and newspapers to billboards and TV commercials.
A QR code is a cousin of the classic bar code you see on consumer goods when you shop. The difference - besides the pattern - is that this code contains a URL. Basically, it’s a hyperlink on paper – one that your smart phone can read & launch. What this means to you is that this website and Chevy Chase listings are now easier than ever to access on your smart phone.
You'll use your smart phone to scan QR codes. You’ll need an download an app - just do a search for QR readers. Many are free, some are paid, all basically do the same thing. Here are a few sites and searches to get you started:
iPhone QR reader app search Once installed, launch the QR reader app to take a picture of the code. The app goes to work and reads that image to translate it into a URL. Your smart phone’s browser launches, and the information you want is on your screen.
NOTE: Microsoft TagReader is not a QR reader application.
